If you want a deal!

Good morning!

Hope you all had a good weekend, we had a full on one, here, there and everywhere. A huge thank you to everyone who we saw at shows and who visited the shops and who purchased online. It's this which provides the stability that we need to keep going.

We had several conversations with people who came up to the stand saying just how many companies and drinks companies that are closing their doors. Things are tough out there at the moment for everyone and when these things happen it's devastating for the people involved and their families.

Our approach during these difficult times (all times actually!) is to try and work harder, put ourselves out there and ride out the difficulties. Without compromising our core values.

We had some great banter with people who were trying to barter and haggle on the price, everyone loves a deal right? We get it, but how many people have stood in a large supermarket and when the cashier tells them the price, say £90, then say i'll give you £70. They don’t, how many people go on amazon and see the price and then email them and offer them less, nope no one. Yet we have a culture whereby if a business is small then it's totally acceptable to offer them less. We don’t take offence to this, unless someone is being rude about it, but we just say no, that's the price and then explain why it's the price and 9 times out of 10 they purchase. We had a lovely couple on Sunday and he tried really hard to get the price down, it was a fun chat with them. We offered him two free coasters and a free plastic bag much to his and our amusement and eventually we shook hands and he purchased the gin. Then just before the show ended they came back and bought another bottle which as they came back we knocked a few pounds off and we will see them again at other shows and remember them and they will remember us.

Why is the price the price? Well, it's priced fairly, and as we explained we make everything from scratch, we only use real natural ingredients and we believe it's good value for what it is. We have often said, how much money do you think is in £12..at most if it cost nothing to make it and there was no VAT and alcohol duty it would be £12!! This then goes towards paying for everything, overheads, wages and then so on and so on with hopefully some left to reinvest to grow the business etc

So the point of this today is thank you to everyone who did purchase from us, and as has been said before, if you want a deal ‘don’t be a d@ck’! We will often chuck in a free bottle at a show when someone has bought several bottles, or knock a few pounds off when they have spent a certain amount of money. So no issue asking for a deal, it's how you go about it that matters.

We now have the absolute mess to sort out from the weekend and then get going with this week. The new person starts today, so it will be a great introduction to the madness in the shed.

Catch you later, off to the meeting
