Keep going!

Good morning!

Bloody ell its a chilly one, was minus 2 when I left for work..it feels even colder in the shed in the fens..But nothing you can do about it apart from wrap up warm and get on with it.

Now I usually write about what we got up to yesterday etc but not today, I have had several chats with people recently and its been a similar thing. This time of year is a difficult time of year, post Christmas blues, starting new things as part of the new year etc This is the second week into the new year, the first week you start making positive changes, you set new routines, whether that be food, exercise or work, initially you see some progress and think great its going to be an amazing year, this is it, I’ve got this, then for many different reasons you think what's the point, nothing changes, I give up, might as well not bother.

I nearly had this conversation with myself yesterday morning and then had it  with a friend this morning, but as I reminded him this morning, it takes time and patience. Just keep doing what he has been doing and he will get there. He works in the fitness industry and its no different than when you set a training plan for someone new in the gym. Everyone wants instant results, thats why many people sell these get slim quick programmes that basically mean you starve yourself for a while, feel miserable, lose loads of weight but feel crap, and then eventually give up because it's not sustainable and end up where you started.

It's no different to running a business like this, lots of get rich quick schemes out there, which would bring in some quick easy money, but you would soon lose your way and end up worse than where you started.

I have written this many many times, progress is made by consistently making small changes and improvements every single day. The reason I have written this is because I have to remind myself all the time. The rest of the world, including social media teaches us that it's easy and things will just happen, you will get lucky etc but the reality is the most successful people regardless of what they do have all had to grind it out everyday, making tiny steps of improvement, not worried about instant results and have just kept going.

So it's no surprise that the second week of January is when we get disheartened by thinking we are not getting anywhere, but that's when we have to just keep going, the results will come. Put that coat on, gloves and bobble hat and get out there and go for that walk…I certainly don't have all the answers, but I do know I will just keep going.

You are making incredible progress, don’t stop now.

Right off to a meeting

Catch you later
