Fly by!
Good morning
Here we go again, the days really do just fly by..
It took us a while to get everything packed away yesterday before then working out the plan for this week. People often ask why we don’t plan further in advance, we do, we have an overall plan of what needs to be done in preparation for next week, but on a day to day basis we have to work out what is needed because it constantly changes. When you are at shows all weekend, you never know what you are going to sell, it can vary so much, so until you get back, get unloaded and stock take you don’t really have an idea.
Whenever you try and predict it, it never works out, a good example is the last large taster night we did. Now at every other one we have done we have ended up selling out of Toffee Vodka and lots of people still wanted it, so we took extra, guess what? We only sold one bottle! We ended up selling everything else instead and ended up selling out of other products. So regardless of how long we have been doing it, you still have no idea what's what until it happens.
That's why we have to be very reactive, this is the benefit of producing in small batches, we can turn things on and off very quickly.
It's the same with the show calendar, that can change at any time, new shows come on, old ones stop or move dates, so it's a constantly evolving thing.
So today we have a plan of what we need to produce. One of the products is coconut rum, which we serve as a cocktail on taster nights. It was very popular, so it will be back in stock shortly.
I had an email yesterday from a local care home, asking if we will go in and serve some cocktails to the residents, we have done one before, so of course we said yes we would love to, they have space on Monday (15th), so we will going there in the afternoon to make some drinks and do a talk to the residents, really looking forward to it.
Right off to a meeting!
Catch you later
