Motivation!

Good morning

Another productive day yesterday, we have ordered some new bottles for the whisky, they should be here by the end of the week so we can start bottling and will then update you with more details, so please bear with us!

We have had several conversations with people this week regarding motivation, people have said how is it you do all the things you do etc and trust us there are plenty of things we don’t get done and they roll over or we put off until they become urgent and have to be done. It's amazing how much you can get done when you have no other choice but to get them done. Sleep, distractions and everything else goes out the window and you become laser focused and they get done! Sound familiar?? Happens to everyone.

After the high of Monday, we still felt the after effects yesterday so we were very productive, however what is very common is the second day is when the motivation dips, it's very easy to become less productive, sit back on your laurels and think that things will happen by themselves. This is why we put a deadline on getting the Whisky sorted by Friday because otherwise this could very quickly become one of those things that roll over to next week and we could make up a number of excuses, none of which would be our fault (ha ha we all use that one) and then start the process again on Monday.

This is where we often hear people say they don’t have the motivation, a lot of the time we don't, but what we do have is routines (morning meeting etc, blog writing), consistency (try to do it the same time every day), and dedication to our cause (building a business and helping people). These elements kick in which means we don’t have to rely on motivation. It's amazing when things are going well and it's a wonderful feeling, so it's certainly worth noting and enjoying those moments when it's like that, but it's also so so important to carry on with these three elements when you are not feeling it. So that's what we are doing today.

  • Blog is written

  • Morning meeting is now (8.30am)

  • Set the plan for the day

  • Deal with the things we rolled over from yesterday

  • Tick off as much of the plan as we can throughout the day

  • Roll over to tomorrow what doesn’t get done

Right off to the meeting

Have a good day!

Positive bit - Matty gets his home signed on Friday, will update towards the end of the week.
