Show bookings

Good morning!

Despite the cold we had a pretty good day yesterday.

It seemed it was a day of booking shows, we had several new shows approach us as well as shows from last year opening up there bookings.

When it comes to attending previous shows it’s quite easy when they were great ones, some shows we have done for many many years so these just get booked without hesitation. The shows that were what we would call just ok are a little more tricky. That’s when other factors come in, such as was the weather bad on the day etc These ones we follow our intuition as to whether we book in again or not.

Then we have the new shows, these are pot luck! It starts with how much does it cost to attend. It isn’t just down to price, we have paid anywhere from £10 to hundreds of pounds a day to trade. More expensive days and more people attending doesn’t always translate to a better show. We have made more sales at a small show with small numbers attending and also had the opposite, very few sales with thousands of people there. It really is a lottery.

We have lots of years doing it so we have to trust our gut feeling, sometimes we get it right sometimes we don’t. That’s just the way it is!

So today we are looking at more events, the calendar is starting to fill up, plus we are also making another version of the valentine drink, we are happy with the taste but not with how it looks so we are trying a different way today.

I also have to go to Wells for a meeting, so a trip to the seaside is on the agenda, I won’t be going in the sea as it’s bloody freezing out there. Will be nice to see it though, there is something very relaxing about the sea.

Right off to a meeting!

Catch you later
