Sprouts!

Good morning!

We had a busy one yesterday getting ready for the show set up this morning, in true Fenspirits fashion things get a little random and during the madness the idea of creating a brussel sprout vodka came up. How it came about, absolutely no idea, I spoke with Gema and said should we have a go at making something with sprouts that tastes bloody awful. We said, have we got time to do it, no, will it be nice, no, should we be doing this right now with everything that is going on, no, so we both agreed its the perfect time! 

So in amongst bottling and labeling, getting the stock ready for the show, getting the christmas decorations out of the loft we got hold of a kilo of sprouts, chopped them up and put them in a pan to boil, we left them on the side boiling away and the whole place absolutely stunk. I am not a fan of sprouts at the best of times but they really did smell awful. 

We put some of the boiled liquid into some spirit and Gema had a little try, the response was it tastes just like when you have eaten the things and they keep repeating on you, but needs more sprout flavour, so we have reduced the liquid down and will make a second version later today. 

Its funny seeing the responses on our posts about them, people either love them or hate them, so it will be interesting to see what happens when the product is finished. 

Now enough of sprouts, back to the important stuff, getting set up at Ely, we can set up from 9.30am, so will drive over this morning, get set up, as in dump everything, put the table cloth on and then come back to the shed to do other things. It starts at 6pm tonight so I will go back later to finish setting up and then trade till 9pm. It's cold out so will be wrapped up warm, but it should look beautiful all lit up and Christmassy.

Right I best get my arse in gear, got to write a list of things to take, I always forget something so I will update you what it is when I get there…
