Typical!

So for those that have read all of these, you will remember us saying that in business (and in life!) you start your day with a plan, a to-do list and then things happen throughout the day, good and bad, and this can go out of the window…

Well things had been going great each day, lots of little steps and lots of progress, guess who spoke too soon? That's correct we did..

The bloody pump on the filling machine went wrong and has given up, it's not the end of the world, but it sure is frustrating getting to the cause of the problem which is the pump is knackered. It starts with things like why is this not filling the bottles, it's making all the right sounds but nothing's coming through. Maybe its not set up properly, it happens, the filling machine works on a vacuum so the slightest issue, whether that be a worn O ring or a loose pipe can cause this, so whilst being very frustrated we work through each step until finally the only thing is can be is the pump has gone so a new one needs to be ordered. It's important during these types of things to be decisive, there is no point wasting hours trying to sort something that cannot be fixed, instead a new one has been ordered and should be with us tomorrow. We do have a back up option to fill but it is just a little slower. In the grand scheme of things this is not a major problem but it's a good example of what happens behind the scenes in a small manufacturing business. There is absolutely no point in stressing over it, the wasted time or the added expense, it's a part of business so put it behind you and get on with your day, which we did.

We have had issues with the supply of 250ml bottles, the Toffee Vodka and Salted Caramel Vodka were very popular in this size so we made the decision to put these into the 200ml bottles, these will be available today online. It will simplify things as it will reduce the number of bottles and corks needed to be kept in stock and free up some space. If you have visited the shed in the fens you will know space is a premium.

We are still working on the video for the AMOUR so it's on todays to do list..

Plus it's time to start preparing for this weekend's show. This involves working out what stock to take, a float, card machine and general set up, we are really looking forward to getting back out there. The last couple of years it has been great to be out at shows, not every show is successful however if you read and listen to the media too much you will have a feeling that the world is a shit place and everything is going wrong, yet being out on the street and meeting people it shows the actual reality, yes things are difficult but people are strong and have resolves and enjoy being out doing things. It's these people that really lift you, nothing to do with selling, we often just have a chat and a laugh with them and many of them simply say its great to be out. So Sunday is the first one of 2023 and we are busy booking more events, the events page on here will be updated as they get booked in.
