Bum Nip!

Good morning!

It's Friday, wow the days really do fly by.

Yesterday was a run around day for me, I visited both shops, and had a coffee in both and a catch up. We have some ideas for what to do in the shops over the next couple of months so that gives me something to work on. I was good and didn’t pinch too much stock! The pack of pork scratchings went down well whilst driving between Hunstanton and Well’s and then the cake bar in Well’s was like my pudding.

The baubles arrived yesterday and we are super happy with them, so we can start the planning part of getting them filled. The outer packaging design is finished so this can go off to the printers, hopefully they will be back within a couple of weeks. The only thing left is the label to go on the bottom of each bauble so you will know which one is which!

We bottled off the Coconut Rum yesterday so this will be labelled today. I have a good feeling about this one so if you are interested in it, it will be available online early next week.

Most of today will be spent getting ready for the shows this weekend and of course tonight's rum talk. It seems ages ago we booked this in the diary and now all of a sudden it's here. I have not done a talk for a while so I am really looking forward to it. The interaction with a group of people that are interested in what we do and how we do it is great for us. It's probably one of my favourite things to do, I was telling someone the other day that its one of the few times I get very nervous. Usually about ten minutes before it starts the nerves kick in, I pace around drinking lots of water because my mouth goes dry. Someone asked if Gema does them with me, the answer is yes, Gema takes care of the pouring of samples and setting everything up, getting everything ready before we get there etc. I set up the plan for the evening and Gema makes sure everything is in place for it. IWe make a good team when it comes to these things. We have done lots of them together now and I am sure she won't mind me saying, she has got more and more confident speaking with people at them. I can only imagine how daunting it was the first few times, when you are not used to being stood up in public it certainly makes your bum nip!

I remember my very first one I did, the only reason I did it, it was a gin talk, was many years ago when gin was at its peak in popularity I heard from lots of people they had attended a gin talk and it was simply a sales pitch to buy someones product and was very expensive for a ticket. I didn’t like the idea for that, so created our own, which was more like an anti-sales talk, with the aim to create a fun evening, where people learn something, plenty of interaction and they go home saying that was a great evening and value for money. This applies even more so today, in these difficult economic times, money is tight for everyone, so I want everyone who comes this evening and has spent their money on a ticket, and go home saying it was worth it. This is the most important part of it for me. Thank you to everyone who has bought a ticket and we look forward to seeing you tonight!

Right, best get to a meeting!

Have a good day and I will catch you later

Ant x
