Free bobble hat!
Good morning!
Well the storm certainly brought the rain with it. It's wet and miserable out there, i spent most of the dog walk standing under a tree whilst the pups ran around rolling in the grass and loving life. I think in the next life I want to be a labrador, Ralf is my spirit animal anyway, hes permanently hungry too!
So yesterday saw us collecting the apple juice and getting prepared for this morning producing the mulled gin, the first batch of 2023 is now cooking away. For those who don’t know, I never liked mulled wine so I made some mulled gin, which is a blend of our gin, really good apple juice and then your usual mulled spices. We then have to cook them until the spices have infused, let it cool down and then bottle it off. We put it in little 1 litre containers for you to then warm up at home. Either in a saucepan or in the microwave. The first year we put it online it went absolutely bonkers, at the time we were making it in a pan on a gas stove and it was almost impossible to keep up. We have now upscaled how we make it and can make it in larger batches. Its still a lot of work, but its much more manageable. The first batch will go on our website tomorrow at some point.
The bobble hats arrived yesterday so after a lot of thought on what we are going to do with them, we will be sending one out with every advent calendar that has been purchased. The rest will be given as a free gift with internet orders over £40, so you will not only receive free delivery you will also receive a free bobble hat. Its been a busy morning already, both stills are on, one is producing rum and the other spirit and the mulled gin is coming up to temperature, so its all go in the shed in the fens. Thankfully with everything on then it is warming up nicely and the pups and me are starting to dry out. Im just pleased my walking boots arrived when they did, they are super warm!
We will spend the rest of the day bottling and getting prepped for the fireworks display on Saturday, there is a lot to think about and plan, the machines that serve the drinks have been cleaned out and tested and they are working great. I am super pleased I bought them, they not only heat up the drink, they make it super easy to pour,
